As soon as Bruce walked into the apartment he could tell something was wrong. Ramsey always met him at the door with a welcome home kiss, a smile, a hug maybe all of them depending upon his mood. Today was an exception as he found Ramsey sitting lost in thought gazing out the window. Sitting next to him on the couch Bruce asked “is something wrong?”
Shrugging Ramsey leaned into him resting his head on Bruce’s shoulder “I’m glad you’re home.”
This was a side of Ramsey that Bruce seldom saw. The softer side that lay just beneath the surface. Ramsey always tried to maintain a tough exterior that left the impression he didn’t need anyone. Bruce knew better “still feeling sick?” he asked to which he received a small nod “would you like me to run you a hot bath? Maybe a massage later?”
“Yes” Ramsey’s voice was high with unexpected emotion and need. He brushed his hair from his face “I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I feel like I’m on an emotional roller coaster.”
“It’s alright babe,” Bruce soothed gently brushing away the sudden tears on his cheeks “it’s all the hormones from being pregnant.”
“I’m not doing this again,” Ramsey moaned as Bruce stood up from the couch.
Holding out his hand Bruce smiled “I’ll take care of you, I promise.”
“I think you’re enjoying this” Ramsey said taking Bruce’s hand accepting his help to get off the couch.
“Maybe a little,” Bruce embraced his husband “I enjoy pampering you. You’ve never let me before and you’ve done so much for me.”
Inhaling his fresh clean scent Ramsey felt he could stay like this forever “I love you,” he murmured kissing a trail up to Bruce’s lips.
“Tell me a secret I don’t know,” Bruce smirked at him returning the kiss.
Smiling Ramsey leaned in close whispering in his ear. Bruce gasped in shock as the color drained from his face. “Yeah that’s how I felt when I found out,” Ramsey sighed snuggling deeper into Bruce’s arms secure in the knowledge this was where he belonged.
