Rory yawned as he walked into the house. He spent all weekend in the recording studio with the band. Recording the new music he and Trent had been working on for months. It felt good to be home. Frowning he noticed the house was unusually quiet. Even for Eddie it was quiet.
A smiled tugged at the corners of Rory’s mouth. He never understood how Eddie could work for hours in almost total silence. Even when Rory was writing a new song he had to have some sort of back ground noise going on around him. It seemed unnatural to him to work without at least some sort of music playing. He knew he’d find Eddie inside his study or as Eddie liked to call it his writing room.
Opening the door Rory leaned against it watching the man he loved sitting in the middle of what looked like piles of old photo albums and scattered pictures. Eddie was so engrossed in whatever he was doing he didn’t even appear to notice he had company until Rory cleared his throat. Looking up a puzzled startled look on his face. “Sorry” Rory murmured “have I ever told you you’re a nerd but my favorite nerd.”
“You may have mentioned a time or two” Eddie said standing up stretching.
“I didn’t mean to disturb you” Rory told him as he took a seat on the old couch in the room.
Joining him Eddie cuddled up on his husbands lap “yes you did.”
Smiling he chuckled a little “I totally did.” He leaned in capturing Eddie’s lips savoring the taste and feel of them on his. Pulling away he asked “what are you working on?”
“Something for my Uncle” Eddie said with a sigh “it’s more difficult than I thought it would be. When he came to me with the idea I had no idea the monumental task ahead of me.”
“Is there anything I can do to help?” Rory offered noting the look of sadness in Eddie’s eyes.
“Just hold me and tell me how much you love me,” Eddie murmured closing his eyes nestling his head on Rory’s shoulder.
“Is that all?” Rory chuckled “that’s too easy.” He wrapped his arms around his husband wondering what sort of project he was working on that would have this kind of effect on him. He knew Eddie would eventually tell him until then he had to be patient.
